Mentorship - Reentry Support

Through our Overcomers Mentor Training Program, we are reaching out to support those coming home.  

We believe support along with practical guidance and resources are vital to successful reentry. 

This program meets those we support where they are by going into local jails. Our 10-week structured program pairs biblical principles with practical life skills to help participants envision new pathways as they transition home.

THINK BEFORE YOU MOVE, 8-WEEK LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM

Taught by FaithWalkers at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail (VPRJ). This program teaches life skills through the game of chess, based on the foundation of, "thinking before you move". We equate chess strategies to life strategies. We teach that every move a person makes should be done with purpose, considering the consequences. Also, that one mistake doesn't end the game, it just reframes your strategy for success.

This program is part of the WAITT (We Are In This Together) Program's course that is headed by Real Life, based out of Richmond VA.
